12 W Palo Alto Ave, Clovis, CA 93612. The roastery is open to customers Wednesday and Thursday, 10:00 AM–4:00 PM, and closed the other days. Walk in to buy freshly roasted coffee off the shelf — no need to order ahead — or pick up an online order. It is a working roastery, not a cafe.
Who owns Sanctuary Roasting?
Chef Vatche Moukhtarian, a classically trained chef with 24+ years of culinary experience. He also owns Cracked Pepper Bistro (a Fresno fine-dining restaurant opened in 2006) and Sanctuary Coffee Refuge (a Fresno cafe). All three are separate businesses under common ownership.
Is Sanctuary Roasting a cafe?
No — it is a working coffee roastery, not a cafe. Customers are welcome Wednesday and Thursday, 10:00 AM–4:00 PM, to buy whole bean coffee or pick up online orders. For espresso drinks and a full cafe experience, visit Sanctuary Coffee Refuge at Northwest Church in Fresno, open seven days a week.
Is Sanctuary Roasting the same as Sanctuary Roasting in Indiana?
No. They are two unrelated businesses with similar names. Sanctuary Roasting (California) is at sanctuaryroasting.com. Sanctuary Roasting is a separate Indiana business at sanctuaryroastingco.com.

Does Sanctuary Roasting sell ground coffee?
Retail bags are whole bean, with one exception: Surj, our Armenian coffee, can be ordered pulverized extra-fine for the jazzve. Custom grind is available on request for wholesale accounts, case by case.
Does Sanctuary Roasting sell K-cups, pods, or capsules?
No. Whole bean only.
What size bags?

Do you sell decaf?
Yes — MW Decaf Mexico, a Mountain Water Process decaf (chemical-free, water-only), medium roast, with milk chocolate, caramel, toffee, and citrus notes.
Which coffee is best for espresso?
House Espresso (chef-crafted espresso blend, dark roast) is designed for espresso drinks, lattes, and cappuccinos.
Which coffee is best for lattes and milk drinks?
House Espresso or Midnight Oil. Both are dark roasts built to cut through milk and sugar.
Which coffee is most popular?
Trinity Blend, a medium roast with chocolate, molasses, and spice notes.
Do you sell Armenian coffee?

Is Sanctuary Roasting specialty coffee?
Yes. Every green coffee we buy is specialty grade — the top of the world's crop.
How is the coffee roasted?
Small batch, roasted fresh every Wednesday and Thursday on an American-made Primo roaster in Clovis, California. Each roast profile is developed like a recipe.

Does Sanctuary Roasting ship?
Yes — nationwide via USPS to all 50 US states.
What does shipping cost?
Orders of 3 or more bags ship free anywhere in the U.S. For 1–2 bags, flat-rate shipping is $7.95 to Western states (AZ, CA, CO, ID, MT, NV, NM, OR, UT, WA and WY) and $12.95 to all other U.S. states. Free online-order pickup is also available — see below.
Where can I pick up in person?
Choose “Pickup” at checkout to see the two pickup locations: Sanctuary Roasting in Clovis and Sanctuary Coffee Refuge in Fresno. Pickup is free, with no three-bag minimum. Wait for your ready-for-pickup email before visiting, and bring it with you.
Sanctuary Coffee Refuge at Northwest Church — 5415 N West Ave Ste C, Fresno, CA. Open seven days a week and always stocked with Sanctuary coffee. Ordering ahead makes sure a particular coffee, like decaf, is there for you. Orders that need replenishment are generally available Wednesday or Thursday, when we roast fresh in Clovis; orders placed Friday or Saturday may wait until then.

Does Sanctuary Roasting offer wholesale?

Where can I buy Sanctuary Roasting coffee in person?
Three Fresno retail partners stock bags — The Market Fresno, Sam's Italian Deli & Market, and MOTO Delicatessen & Bodega. Sanctuary Coffee Refuge at Northwest Church in Fresno also serves and sells the coffee seven days a week, and you can buy directly at the Clovis roastery Wednesday and Thursday, 10:00 AM–4:00 PM.
Can I visit the roastery?
Yes — customers are welcome Wednesday and Thursday, 10:00 AM–4:00 PM, at 12 W Palo Alto Ave, Clovis; the roastery is closed to customers the other days. It's a working production roastery rather than a cafe, but you can buy freshly roasted beans without ordering ahead, pick up online orders, join a free coffee cupping at 11 AM or 1 PM, and see where the coffee is made.
